At Chicago NAD Conference
Alex: Hello from Chicago! I’m at the NAD Conference. Tuesday night is the opening ceremony. I will cover that. Today (Monday) was still pretty busy. There was a Council of Representatives meeting. It consisted of different delegates from various state associations of the Deaf and NAD affiliate organizations.
I entered the COR and saw the NAD President Jenny Buechner leading the meeting. I also saw the NAD Interim CEO Bobbie Beth Scoggins. There are also two different organizations here that are not directly a part of NAD but is working closely with them - the NASADHH, which is made up of various states’ government organizations that serve Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. In my hometown, Daytona Beach, Florida, many homeless people sleep outside. Nova Road, Ridgewood Ave., Beach Street, the City Island Library, and the beachside are where homeless people live. Those streets are dangerous. I have seen them for many years. Sad.

Did you know that rule will applied to Biden? He will be immunity during his presidency. If Trump want to prosecute Biden after win the election but it won't happen due to Supreme Court decision.
Thank you for delivering news in ASL today! Here are my thoughts regarding some of the news that were shared. As for Supreme Court ruling Trump has immunity for official acts, this continues to show how low the Court has fallen and the fact that the Court has no understanding on what unity means. As for at least 100 people killed in a stampede at a religious event in India, this is a tragedy. However, the religions in India are all false. Jesus only established one Church, not many. Sadly, many don't bother to study it out to see if their religion is false or not. Scripture says to prove all things and hold fast to what is good. As for the parent company of RedBox filing for bankruptcy, the company should shut down its RedBox company because it no longer can compete with streaming services. As for US being kicked out of the 2024 Copa tournament, I could care less. Sports do not mater in the grand scheme of things.
!!!! I wholeheartedly support this serious overstepping of cultural and human rights boundaries. iIts about thoughtful awareness and RESPECT of both the individual and the culture. I learned ASL through my church. Very patient women and men, both deaf and HoH helped me. I am profoundly changed in language, my faith and my awareness of the Deaf and HoH community. Twenty years later , though I moved and lost contact with my precious friends, I now am returning to my first language love ASL!!! I am sensitive to the fact all language and culture evolve. And that respect of boundaries and cultural parameters and protocol, trump a persons private self-serving agenda. My goal is to be accepted slowly back into a powerful, intelligent and compassionate culture and share lives, loves, knowledge and engender hope for successful future all people I meet, whether hearing or deaf. “Not fault” part I don’t get it. I know depends on different stories. But you don’t know some homeless’s choices and family/friends hard help them but the homeless refuse to listen to them. So family/friends have to give up. Let them go. You know they are adults and you can’t stop their choice.
